Our Expert Staff

At Gray photography our staff is what makes the difference. It's true,we're all a little bit quirky, but that's what makes it all work. Between our left brain thinkers and our right brain folks, we bring our great minds together and, with some terrific teamwork, produce some amazing results.

Michael Gray, along with his wife, Cary, launched Gray Photography in 1990, with a primary focus on weddings and commercial work. After the birth of their daughter, Olivia, Michael turned his photographic eye on her, and according to Olivia, tormented her with a camera 24/7 (Michael does confess there are many pictures of a young sleeping Olivia). Photographing children in a very natural, relaxed manner became his passion, and soon the studio became widely known for its innovative children's portraits.

His resume' includes working as an east coast hotdog vendor, playing back-up guitar for Della Reese and Frankie Avalon (both very nice people), flying lessons, ...and oh yeah, walls and walls of spectacular portraits.

Michael and his family love their many animals as well as taking long weekend trips in search of good music and food.

Allie Cavinsgraduated from USI with a Fine Arts dergree and is a pro at all things creative. From her spot-on advice during a sales consultation, to editing and wardrode suggestions, Allie's insight, advice and integrity is pure perfection. When she's not deivering impeccable customer service, she stays busy keeping the office and Michael organized.

Allie loves Dolly Parton (who doesn't?) and even got to meet her at Wal-mart! Allie says she couldn't live without family, including her husband Paul, and toddler son, Lant.

Amanda Burkins is our part-time phenomenon-although she's here full time in spirit. She's a wiz at picture editing, answering the phone and taking orders; sometimes all at the same time!

When she's not multi-tasking here, she's busy with her husband, kids and volunteer work as the president of the Newburgh Parks Board and vp of the Newburgh Elementary School PAT. She also fosters dogs for AnotherChance for Animals. She has never met a dog she didn't like. Many years ago Amanda came to Gray Photography for a family portrait and never left.

Her idea of a perfect weekend is being at the park with her family (we just love her kids) grilling out and catching fireflies. Always the bargain shopper, she lives for her buy five, get one free coffee card and her mixed CD collection.
